Support for Carers / Dementia Care

Our friends at The Charity for Civil Servants are asking people to join them for World Alzheimer’s Month as they team up with TIDE and Lifestory Network to deliver the first of a three-part series of learning sessions for carers of people with dementia.

Session 1: ‘You Can’t Pour From An Empty Cup’ - this session is about how carers can manage and maintain their wellbeing as well as possible. Carers will gain advice and tips that can help with various issues that affect wellbeing.

Session 2: ‘Living Grief and Bereavement’ - working with carers, Tide have developed outline resources providing information and approaches to living with grief. They recognise that this is an unique experience when caring for someone with dementia.

Session 3:  Getting Your Point Across - this session will help people feel more empowered when getting their point across. It can be really useful for preparing to meet with professionals such as health or social care staff. You will learn how to make your case effectively and manage your emotions at the same time. We will explore how to prepare, deal with, follow up and even make complaints if required. You will understand more about rights and the approaches you can take to improve issues with services.

Places will be limited so they are asking people to sign up now.  They can do this by clicking here.
