If you’re feeling motivated to stop smoking this year, NICS WELL are offering information and support to get you off to a good start.
Support is available for NICS colleagues who want to stop smoking
NICS WELL have been working with Cancer Focus to host Stop Smoking Support Services for Belfast-based colleagues, and are working with other providers to help smokers who work in offices outside Belfast.
There will be a number of information stands at Belfast offices in January – there’s no need to book, simply come along and find out more about what help is available:
Support for smokers outside Belfast
Information sessions are taking place at four locations outside Belfast in partnership with the Northern Health Trust. Sessions in other areas are being developed for later in 2020.

Rachel Hawthorne, who works in the Department of Finance Communications and Engagement Division, attended her first Stop Smoking event in Belfast on 7 November and has recently attended her first one-to-one session.
She said: "I’m not a big smoker and I have no problem going two or three days without, but I always give in at some point in the week. I was a bit unsure of what to expect at that first session, but Doreen Regan from Cancer Focus was very welcoming. I’m hoping that with the extra help and support, I will be able to quit permanently."
