Shaftesbury Square Coffee Morning

Staff at Shaftesbury Square Jobs and Benefits Office fundraised for Chest, Heart and Stroke NI by holding a Coffee Morning on 19 March, with coffee very generously donated by Starbucks, Great Victoria Street.

The staff in Conor Building were – as usual - very supportive and brought in lots of delicious baked goodies – from lemon scones to chocolate fudge cake and fruit loaf to gourmet sausage rolls.  A £1 quiz with Easter Egg prizes plus an amazing Easter hamper to raffle boosted income. We raised the grand total of £315.

We even set up a crafting corner for those who enjoy a coffee with their crochet! Did you know that crafting can be very therapeutic and has a positive impact on mental health?

We chose Chest Heart and Stroke as they are a local charity and so close to our office. In February they came to our building and carried out free Health Checks for staff, so we really wanted to support them in return.

They have numerous services to help those impacted by these conditions, help fund valuable research and raise awareness of how to look after your health (oh no, maybe less chocolate fudge cake ☹?)
