FareShare NI is a project operated by the Council for the Homeless Northern Ireland. They are the UK’s largest charity that fights hunger and good food waste.
FareShare NI believe that no good food should go to waste and therefore they redistribute surplus food to charities who make all of this food into meals.
Although FareShare NI rely on a lot of fresh food from retailers & supermarkets, Clare O’Neill from FareShare NI said that they still require a lot of Non-Perishable, foods like tinned meat, rice, pasta, tea & coffee etc.
We will be hoping to collect for FareShare NI over the next 12 months. However as it was coming nearer to Christmas we wanted to make a donation as there was a greater need for them to provide more meals.
As you can see from the photos we got an amazing response from the staff in NIEA Lisburn who very kindly donated to this very worthwhile cause and we were able to donate these boxes of food the week before Christmas. The volunteers from FareShare NI were delighted with our donation and hopefully we will be able to help them again.
