Estelle Allen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and running got her through the toughest battle of her life. Please see the inspirational article.
In 2020 Estelle organised the first Jog On Cancer event with a 5k and 10k run/walk being completed virtually by participants due to COVID restrictions. This event raised a whopping £4,000 which was split between the Glenanne Breast Cancer Unit in Craigavon Area Hospital and the charity Knitted Knockers.
The event is now held annually each October in Lurgan Park and this years event was supported by running sensation Dame Kelly Holmes who handed out medals to participants.
Jog On Cancer supports:
Jog On Cancer are also looking to support Prostate Cancer at the next event.
If you would like to get involved or have been diagnosed with cancer and feel that you need some support with inspirational stories etc please contact me or go directly to the Jog On Cancer Facebook Page.
You don’t need to be runner or walker to participate you can simply add a few extra items onto your Home Bargains, B&M etc trip and donate them through me by leaving them in the JSB Room in RCJ or alternatively offices can collectively put together a pack of items and I will come and collect if this is more suitable.
