Our friends at the LBGT Network are inviting members of LGBTQ+ communities to talk about LGBTQ+ representation and visibility in Belfast’s cultural landscape.
As they implement their new ten-year cultural strategy, A City Imagining, and prepare for Belfast’s Year of Culture in 2023, they want the people of Belfast to embark on a co-design process. This begins with conversations with communities, groups and individuals across Belfast - to imagine, together, what we want for our city.
This September they invite members of LGBTQ+ communities to talk with us about LGBTQ+ representation and visibility in Belfast’s cultural landscape.
Where are we now? Where should we be? What do you want for Belfast by 2023?
This is an informal conversation and everyone is welcome, grab a cuppa and join us for a virtual conversation (via Zoom), select any of the dates and times that suit you. This is just the beginning of the process, we look forward to seeing how it develops as we work together towards 2023 and beyond.
To register please go onto the Belfast City Council website.
Each session is limited to just 10 participants so everyone has a chance to have their say - sessions will last approximately 1 hour.
All sessions will be facilitated by Dominic Montague. Dominic is a theatre maker and playwright, much of his work has focussed on exploring LGBTQ+ narratives and histories within Northern Ireland, and he is currently the Irish writer in residence for OUTing The Past.
