Awareness Day
16th October 2024 is Restart a Heart day- Restart a Heart day raises awareness regarding Cardiac Arrests and helps people to learn CPR which is potentially a life-saving skill to have.
In 2019, 291,000 people were trained in CPR during Restart a Heart day. This event is held by the Resuscitation Council UK along with the British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, St John Ambulance and the NHS Ambulance Service. It is important to learn CPR as 80% of Cardiac Arrests happen at home meaning it is a vital skill to have when it comes to saving lives.

A heart attack (myocardial infarction or MI) is a serious medical emergency in which the supply of blood to the heart is suddenly blocked, usually by a blood clot.
A heart attack is a medical emergency. Call 999 and ask for an ambulance if you suspect a heart attack.
A lack of blood to the heart may seriously damage the heart muscle and can be life threatening.
